We are holding our Gala Day on Saturday 9th June at 1.00 - 3.30pm, we hope as many of you will be able to attend, there will be archery, Walking on Water balls, a bouncy castle, face painting, hot dogs, a lucky dip and raffle and baking stall. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. We will be all tidied away for the arrival of the Olympic torche into the village at 4.16pm.
The P6/7 class this week have been working on our ICT creating tables in the Publisher programme using the Olympics as our topic. We have been learning about algebra in maths. We have been reading about Charles Darwin. Writing Healthy recipes in writing.
Next week P7 will be taking part in the Fairburn trip as part of their transition to S1.
P4/5 have enjoyed working with Miss Peters this week, Miss Peters is an Australian teacher currently on a working holiday. She has told us that she loves working at Kilchuimen and the children love her, the children were learning how to shade using a selection of lolly pop sticks.
P4/5 were busy learning about the Olympics with Ms Scollay and took part in a Sports maths day on Thursday.
P123 have been busy this week as well and Mrs Walker has a new and novel way of teaching the children how to spell which means lots of out the seats for them! The children are also becoming really good at speaking in French, Mrs Walker will make another trip to France next week, to learn more about teaching french! (Well the children think it's France, unfortunately for Mrs Walker it is Dingwall!!)
P123 also enjoyed a great singing session with the Music Man, John from the Kodaly singing team.
The Nursery were delighted to welcome Ruby's Dad and Grandad to help in the garden this week and the plants have begun to grow.
The Nursery also watched as their butterflies came out of their cocoons, and they had become the most beautiful painted lady butterflies.
We all enjoyed a super sports day organised by Mrs Campbell which was just brilliant, it was great to see everyone trying their best.
Even the mums and dads were delighted to win a rosette.
Next week we are being visited by Education Scotland and will be inspected. We are looking forward to their advice and support. The team will be here from Monday lunch time until end of Thursday.
Parents Evening is on Monday afternoon and evening, this is an appointment only night, if the times given were not suitable please contact the school to arrange a different time.
Kindest regards
